Jamia Admission Process to Begin from 26 March

IJamia Millia Islamia’s admission process for the academic session 2014-15 is going to begin from 26th March, 2014.

The Prospectus and Application Forms for all professional and non-professional courses offered by various Faculties, Departments and Centres of Excellence and Research of Jamia Millia Islamia for the academic session 2014-15 will be available for sale from 26th March, 2014 on all days (except Sundays/Holidays) at counters of M/s Maktaba Jamia Limited, Jamia Millia Islamia.

The Application Form may also be submitted On-line on JMI’s website Candidates applying through on-line mode must read instructions available on the webpage for on-line submission.


Jamia Law Students Win Big at All India Moot Court Competition

In the XXXV All India Moot Court Competition at Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Puducherry, the Jamia team comprising Saad Saeed, Kaushal Kumar, Zain Khan of the Faculty of Law, were declared the third Best Team, with team member Saad Saeed winning the prestigious award of Best Male Advocate in the competition. The Jamia team also won the Best Memorial award in the competition.


Jamia Prof. Akhtarul Wasey appointed Commissioner for Linguistic Minorities

Jamia Millia Islamia professor Akhtarul Wasey has been appointed Commissioner for Linguistic Minorities. Following his appointment he left the university two days ago.

Professor Wasey told OKHLATIMES over phone from Allahabad that he left the university to take charge of the new position. The Professor was head of Dr. Zakir Husain Institute of Islamic Studies at Jamia.

The Commissioner Linguistic Minorities is the Constitutional Authority appointed under Article 350-B of the Constitution of India, which empowers it to investigate all matters pertaining to the Constitutional and the nationally agreed safeguards provided to the linguistic minorities.



The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), an autonomous organisation affiliated to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, runs 34 other cultural centres besides London, including in Berlin, Moscow, Johannesburg, Cairo and Colombo. These centres function as part of the diplomatic missions of the Government of India of those countries with the objective of serving as windows into the composite culture of India.
